Beginning in August of 2022, I became a Teaching Professor in the Department of Economics at Xavier University, in Cincinnati, Ohio. I currently teach principles of macroeconomics and natural resource economics. Besides teaching courses at Xavier, I also work closely with the Smith Center at Xavier on political economy events on campus.
I graduated with a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University in 2022 and was a Fellow in the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
My research focuses on political economy, economic sociology, Austrian economics, and applied microeconomics, particularly as it relates to markets & morality and the COVID-19 pandemic. My dissertation is titled "The Political Economy of COVID-19" and was focused on exploring the COVID-19 pandemic through a political, social, and economic lens. My committee chairman was Virgil H. Storr, and my other committee members were Peter J. Boettke and Christopher Coyne.
My work has been published by Cambridge, The Review of Austrian Economics, Studies in Comparative International Development, The Independent Review, and Routledge, and is currently under review at several journals. I'm currently working on several projects on the economic consequences of COVID-19 policies, including the political incentives of mask mandates and situating pandemic entrepreneurship within the entrepreneurship literature.

I received my B.A. in politics and economics from Hillsdale College (2018), an M.A. in economics from George Mason University (2020), and Ph.D. (2022) in economics from George Mason University.

I hearken from the Midwest. When I'm not reading, researching, or teaching, I love to ski, bake cheesecake, and take my dog, Nora, on walks.
